However, the veil shrouding her past really begins to tear when the Semeys, a band of 18th century Cossacks brought back to life by the atomic blasts in Kazakhstan, reach out to her. These warriors have turned businessmen and come to America as the Land of Opportunity. Little does she know, when she loses herself in the icy gaze of their tall, blond leader that she is staring at her fate, a fate that will take her half across the world to the forbidding mountains of Russia and China to uncover the mystery of her birth.
