For eons, enlightened humans have explored, encountered the creatures of our nightmares, and battled for power and influence on the Plane: an elusive dreamscape that mimics our waking one, and for those who dare, the hub to everyone's subconscious. 

Some of history's biggest events were designed by Readers: those who earned the ability to access the Plane by challenging their own minds, bodies, and willpower. After decades of executing their plan, a clandestine organization of Readers called The Apostles has pushed the United States of America to the brink of civil war. 

The future of America will depend on Jesse Ramirez: a kid from the wrong side of the tracks who is always on the wrong side of the law and school, and always in the wrong place at the wrong time. He's the new kid, hopelessly in love, and on his last chance... Until one day, he is given an opportunity to change the worlds around him.
