Once more this collection of short stories from 'Sydney's hippest writer' are tales of the mentally ill, told from their own perspectives. The exception to this rule are the tales involving Elijah d'Israeli, after whom the book is named. Elijah is an ordinary man who has an extraordinary vision. It is a vision of Roman Catholic priests attending confession to seek forgiveness for their sins of paedophilia, to be then forgiven, and proceed along their paths of unmitigated evil. The stories of Elijah would be well perused by the pontiff, revealing unto him an important insight.
