ze Roof Apocalyptic Storm Moments 2

As time passes climate change continues to evolve, generating storms of incredible intensity and beauty. Living in New York City presents a fascinating backdrop to incorporate during such natural events. Beginning in 2017 I started photographing a few unique storm events. The following year, 2018, my thinking and imaging evolved with embracing storm chasing with visually crafted stories from ze roof.


Storms are like stories - they have a beginning, a middle, and an end. With the warmth of summer approaching in 2019, I began to revise and refine my approach photographing storm moments. The addition of a new lens (the Pentax D FA 15-30mm f/2.8 ED SDM WR - I know, a mouth full) helped immensely capturing the gargantuan scale of the storms presented throughout the book. Also having another roof involved in the imaging festivities brought welcome flavoring to the imaging palette. 


And then the storms began to arrive. Oh my. 


Thus began a calculated series of shoots - playing hooky from work, as well as luckily having a few storms appear on my regular days off (so helpful Mother Nature). Would have been great being able to photograph all the meteorological events which transpired, yet this was not the case sadly. I did what I could, happily having 11 magical moments to embrace and witness surreal atmospheric moments. Absolutely incredible, a pleasure to share with you the reader.
