Dolly Alderton is an absolute joy to listen to. In this audiobook of her self-narrated memoir, the columnist turned podcast host looks back at her teens and twenties, describing the series of riotous adventures she sought out when starving for experience. It's smart of Alderton to slot these entertaining anecdotes in between smaller chapters of witty lists, imaginary emails and questionable recipes, making this the type of audiobook that’s easy to listen to for briefer spells. Alderton is so engaging, though, you won't want to hit pause. There’s not an ounce of conceit in her retellings, just unreserved sincerity and electrifying wisdom drawn from the intimacy of her long-term friendships with women—her true loves.
