Dead Energy illustrated

When a massive oil tanker suddenly goes silent in Puget Sound, former CIA operative turned geophysics professor Alex Cave answers the distress call—only to discover the ship drifting empty. The crew has vanished. The cargo is gone. And witnesses report a strange blue light moments before the disaster.

Soon another tanker is found abandoned… and the missing sailors appear hundreds of miles away under impossible circumstances. When oil begins disappearing from pipelines and refineries across the country, the government fears a coordinated attack on the nation's energy supply.

Pulled back into a world of danger he tried to leave behind, Alex races from the Texas desert to the frozen wilderness of Alaska searching for answers. But the deeper he investigates, the clearer it becomes that this isn't ordinary sabotage.

Something unknown is draining the world's oil.

And it may be impossible to stop.
