Ever since her father left for the trenches, Margaret Fellows has longed to give her life meaning. Most of the women from her social standing found work that didn’t sully their hands, but Margaret stepped up to join the thousands of women who filled factory positions as their fathers, husbands, and sons were off to war. On her first day in the factory, she is introduced to a tall and handsome man who happens to be the foreman’s assistant, and for some reason, she finds herself stuttering when he turns those intense green eyes on her.



Bernard is no saint, but he believes that all men should follow two simple rules. One, don’t sleep with married women and two never lay an abusive hand on a woman. Love was not on his radar when a blue-eyed, raven-haired beauty stepped into the factory but before long he found himself in trouble. Now he can’t stop thinking about her adorably awkward mannerisms.



Devastation threatens their city and their country as bombs fell from warplanes, demolishing buildings and startling the factory workers who stood in the middle of a live ammunition factory. Emotions and grief spread like wildfire and Margaret must come to terms with hard news delivered at her door.
