Fort Morgan begins with Dionne and Yvonne being held captive by men who were like “the monsters that lived in the children’s books.” As their desperate situation unfolds, life threatening bullets rain on Denver Cereal characters. Sissy’s life comes to an end on a New York street. Heather hangs between human life and Olympus as a bullet ends her life. In some of the darkest chapters in Denver Cereal, the characters come face to face with the end of their life.

For a moment, the light has gone out of Denver Cereal.

The power of Denver Cereal bursts forth. Otis arrives to take care of his son once and for all, only to find Mari the fairy has saved Yvonne. In labor, Heather and the girlfriends give a peaceful rest to a dying species. All the while, Sissy discovers true love. The girlfriends go all the way to Olympia to save Heather, a favor she returns when Sissy slips away.

In the end, their love for each other takes them to the ends of the earth, and they save the day.
