No more magic. How am I supposed to get by with No More Magic?

What's worse is I can still do magic; I'm just not allowed to. It's like Mom is a dentist and Dad is the Candyman, except I don't get cavities, I destroy myself. I don't know how I can still do my job, and I wonder if I should quit.

Then the Demon in my head (yes, a real one) starts making dark suggestions and telling me I need to find a certain child before anybody else does. And just to make it that little bit more fun, I can't ask any of my friends for help.

Not that any of them seem interested. Miller and Tasha are working on something they won't tell me about, and Michael is wrapped up in his new job.

And just when I think I've got a handle on things, someone kidnaps the child, someone else shoots me, and I end up backed into a corner with no options. As usual.

Well, one option. And it's as likely to kill me as a bullet.
