'A swirl of big ideas and non-stop action' New York Times

Florence: Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon awakes in a hospital bed with no recollection of where he is or how he got there. Nor can he explain the origin of the macabre object that is found hidden in his belongings.

A threat to his life will propel him and a young doctor, Sienna Brooks, into a breakneck chase across the city. Only Langdon's knowledge of the hidden passageways and ancient secrets that lie behind its historic facade can save them from the clutches of their unknown pursuers.

With only a few lines from Dante's Inferno to guide them, they must decipher a sequence of codes buried deep within some of the Renaissance's most celebrated artworks to find the answers to a puzzle which may, or may not, help them save the world from a terrifying threat . . .

Great and suspenseful, with a bit too much culture...

It is an amazing book, but sometimes there is too much explanation about culture, art, cities etc.

I definitely recommend this book by Dan Brown.

Both thrilling and dull

As always with Dan Brown novels the hype around them makes you compelled to read. Inferno has a clever plot, no doubt, AND the lingo is definitely far better than in both Da Vinci Code and Angels and Demons, but it's still the same old story, new plot, with Robert and a beautiful woman chasing the solution of the riddle, running through cities and different countries discovering the truth. Chemistry between them building up. Handsome professor Langdon in his tweeds with tall, slim, blond pony tailed woman... Kind of dull and very "Dan Brownish". Plot though better than expected. Still not written in the most stimulating, variated language...

Nice.... but

I liked it, especially the thought provoking evil-genius scientific approach to solve the over population problem. The overall plot was however overworked slowing the reading flow while revealing the author's presence. Like when in a movie the special effects are too visible. Still.. intelligent entartainment.
