This book is intended for all couples and individuals who want to improve their relationships and strengthen their intimacy. The foundation of any successful marriage begins with a conscious commitment and we begin with this topic. Just about all marriages suffer at some point from lack of feelings-awareness, and we decided to devote a significant portion of the book on how to develop feelings skills (including a chapter that speaks directly to men who are still having difficulty understanding what women want in that area). We knew that couples who want to live in a real relationship need to learn more about how to deal effectively and realistically with anger and resentments. We wanted to emphasize the importance of talk and touch in all marriages. 

    The second half of the book delves into topics more specific to second (multiple) marriages, but anyone who has experienced more than one significant relationship will recognize the challenges of dealing with exes, stepparenting, and money conflicts that arise in blended families. We include a chapter on the pragmatic+emotional aspects of prenuptial agreements. 

      The book closes with a discussion about one of the most important relationship skills and that is how to maintain a healthy, well-developed self, inside a marriage.
