The pub on the corner of Fenwick and Harwich Street has a rule: first pour at midnight. No exceptions.

On the night Liam Carey pulls that first pour, thirteen people die. He walks out alive — changed, chosen, carrying something that has moved through bloodlines and centuries, looking for exactly the right kind of person. Someone capable of refusing it.

Now four people are converging on a green door in a city that doesn't know what moves beneath its streets. A woman whose family has carried this burden for generations.
