After two days locked in a rented room with the acid-tongued actress, private eye Toby Peters is starting to feel like he's her husband—instead of Arthur Farnsworth—and he wants a divorce. The diva's real hubby—an aeronautics engineer with a head full of government secrets and a gang of blackmailers on his trail—has hired Peters to keep Bette safe from kidnappers.
