The Time Machine

The Time Machine is a novella by H. G. Wells that introduced the concept of time travel via a machine. It has had a major indirect impact on innumerable books, movies, and shows that have come after it.


The main character is simply known as the Time Traveller. He creates a time machine and ends up traveling multiple times; once, to 5 hours in the future; second, to 802,701 AD where he encounters the Eloi and the Morlocks; third, to 30 million years from his own time; fourth, to return to his own time; and finally, to a time we know not.
