The Way it Comes

From the time she was certain she was lesbian; Amber had fantasized about being in love with Ashlyn. The beautiful girl living next door and two years older than her. Ashlyn was the beautiful outgoing, party girl, wild child, something Amber was not. Amber worshipped her from afar. until Ashlyn went off to college on the West Coast. Though they remained close via email and phone calls, never once did the topic of romance between them ever come up

Amber entered college at a university in her own state, still far away from Ashlyn.  Still pining away for her dear friend, Amber tried to make an attempt to involve herself in the social activities at college. Her heart not being into anything or one that wasn't Ashlyn though. She got a shock when she learned that Ashlyn's family's regular winter vacation was going to be a European cruise. Ashlyn hated cruising and wasn't going with them. Amber had a plan.

Amber got approval from her parents to have Ashlyn stay with them over Christmas Vacation. The entire idea had Amber walking on air. Anxiety however, crept into Amber's head. After two years of not seeing each other, would Ashlyn be a different person, with all her college escapades? Would Amber ever be able to tell Ashlyn how she really felt? Once Ashlyn arrived, she was unchanged, and soon both confessed their long affection for each other.
