Et grundigt eventyr med stærk realisme
Det at følge Kvothe i hans liv, hans møde med bekendte og ubekendte oplevelser er stærke indtryk også for læseren. Realismen i en karakter som også kunne bide tungen af sig selv for at sige de forkerte ting en gang imellem, får læseren til at knytte sig endnu mere til den rødhårede unge mand.
