Wonder Comics, issue 01

Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster's Superman revolutionized comics when the character debuted in 1938. Victor Fox was publishing astrology magazines when he heard of the Man of Steel's success, and he immediately decided to get into the comic book business. Fox hired legendary creators Will Eisner and Jerry Iger to create the best knock-off possible. Their creation, Wonder Man, hit the stands nearly a year later and was promptly sued into oblivion by DC Comics, Superman's publisher. The court decided that Wonder Man was more of a "Man of Steal," and Fox never published another Wonder Man story.
