My Mirror and Me


“My Mirror and Me”, is a book about “confidence”. The mirror becomes the tool to encourage a child’s self-worth and self reflection. It is imperative that in early childhood children gain confidence and embrace the fact that they are important, valued and special. 


“The Mirror and Me” becomes a reflection of the child despite culture or ethnicity and helps the reader to connect with their individuality. That same mirror is a constant reminder that although we may have; happy, sad or difficult days, we have the ability to make choices and cultivate change. My mirror and me will help the reader connect with their emotions, reinforce self-awareness, and build skills of resilience.


The book encourages the reader to know “who” they are and believe that they can conquer anything with confidence!


When a child looks in the mirror, Mrs. Shelby’s desire is that they embrace self confidence/self-appreciation, discover their purpose, and ultimately embrace the fact that they are never alone ......My Mirror and ME!
