In 2017, Michelle tested positive for the ovarian cancer marker-the same cancer that cut short her grandmother's life. Faced with this reality, Michelle asked herself: If she only had twenty-five years left to live, would she continue down the path she was currently on? Her answer was a resounding NO! 

In addition to making major life changes, Michelle set out to preserve the lessons and stories she wanted to share with her young daughter-capturing those big ideas, lessons learned, and tender words that her daughter, Z, could read time and again, even when Michelle was not physically able to be with her. It was a way to love Z longer.
