Ter

Collect the entire trilogy of writer Rodolphe and artist Christophe Dubois’s critically acclaimed science-fiction series Ter in a single omnibus volume! The series is a blend of “medieval-futurism” and high-concept speculative fiction that begins as a mystery and evolves into a grand space opera. The story begins on a strange, lush planet called Ter, where a primitive society lives among the ruins of inexplicable, ancient technology. The narrative kicks off when a young grave robber named Pip discovers a naked, mute man sleeping inside a tomb. This stranger, nicknamed Mandor (or “Main d’Or” for the hand-shaped tattoo on his arm), possesses an uncanny, instinctive ability to repair complex mechanical objects that the locals treat as relics or magic. As Mandor regains his speech and integrates into the village of Bas Courtil, he is increasingly viewed as a messianic figure. The trilogy follows his quest to uncover his own origins, eventually revealing that the “planet” Ter is actually a massive, decaying generation ship, the Jupiter, and its inhabitants are the descendants of space travelers who have forgotten their history and turned their technological environment into a world of myth and religion. This omnibus edition contains the entire trilogy in a single volume.
