Hatched without the birth markings that denoted an heir to throne, the drake called Raas sought nothing less than to forget that he was the son of the Black Dragon — one of the most feared of the Dragon Kings. Seeking solace and a new life, he hid among humans, even finding love…until death took that from him.

Forced by circumstance to return to his sire in the dread, mist-enshrouded realm of Lochivar, Raas flees anew to the mountain kingdom of Talak in search of a fresh start...only to find that the legacy of his father’s past ambitions has taken root there, along with the desperate quest of an obsessed renegade from across the sea. Yet, in attempting to aid past allies and uncover the truth about a powerful artifact, the drake will discover that he is not so different from his sire, after all…and that the monstrous Grey Mists of Lochivar reach well beyond its borders.
