The Rights of Man

The Rights of Man by Thomas Paine was written as a defense of the French Revolution against Edmund Burke’s attacks in Reflections on the Revolution in France. Paine’s stance includes the belief that a revolution is allowed when a government doesn’t safeguard the rights of its people.


The Rights of Man is an essential work on revolution and the rights of citizens much like Thomas Paine’s other classics The Age of Reason and Common Sense.
