Descripción editorial

We note at the outset of our discussion that defendant has abandoned Assignments of Error Nos. 1 through 8, 12, 16, 21, and 22 by failing to advance any argument in his brief to support them. N.C.R. App. P. 28(a). On the basis of his ten remaining assignments of error, defendant contends that the trial court erred (1) by denying his motion to suppress certain evidence, (2) by improperly charging the jury, and (3) by allowing prejudicial statements in the States closing argument. We find each of these contentions meritless.
