Emerson Smith’s aspirations of becoming a real life Sam Spade were realized when she helped local police solve the murder of the man next door. The question is, however, can Emerson really handle life as an amateur detective, or was her first cracked case no more than a fluke?

When aspiring author and full-time dog-sitter Emerson, heads out to the local dog park, it doesn’t take long for her to notice a mysterious stranger hanging around the park perimeter. Ready to put her sleuthing skills to the test once more, Emerson starts to ask questions…questions that attract a lot of attention.

Emerson’s best friend Charlie begs her to leave well enough alone, but when Emerson keeps pressing for answers, she gets a lot more than she bargained for.
