First Nations Languages First Nations Languages

Descripción editorial

The survival of First Nations languages has important impacts on individual and community wellness, the environment and climate change and the growth of the economy. There are dozens of unique First Nations languages spoken across Canada that can be grouped together according to their language families, their grammatical properties or where they are spoken. Each of these languages is valuable, and despite threats to their vitality due to colonization, many First Nations people and communities are working hard to revitalize their languages.
