Human Choice and Computers

This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 17th IFIP TC9 International Conference on Human Choice and Computers, HCC 2026, held in Vienna, Austria, during September 2026.

The 11 full papers presented in this book were carefully reviewed and selected from 20 submissions. 

The topic of this year's conference is "Combined Intelligence: Human–AI Systems in Everyday Contexts”. The papers focus on how AI and humans operate together in real-world contexts, creating new forms of agency, responsibility, and knowledge production.
