Descripción editorial
It's 2050, and The United States of America is no more.
It is now the Regions of New America.
Triana
All her life, Triana Medina had followed the rules, mostly because she'd had no choice. Regardless, she'd been raised by devoted, caring, and successful parents, which had allowed her to live a comfortable life and even go to college. Her relationship with her brother was also another blessing that she cherished in her life, no sibling rivalry in the Medina household.
Nevertheless, something was missing, and that something was genuine freedom. She had family, friends, and many opportunities, but she didn't have any real freedom, and no one could understand why she'd even want it. For all intents and purposes, her life lacked nothing, and complaining about it sounded ungrateful and selfish, though she really was neither of those things.
Kairo
All his life, Kairo Booker had embraced the rules, mostly because he believed in them. If he'd ever had a bad day in his life, he couldn't remember it. He came from a very prominent, successful, and loving family, and that had paved the way for him to follow all of his dreams, which he'd had. However, he hadn't been the only one; his brothers were just as accomplished and successful as he was.
Nevertheless, he wasn't so out of touch with life that he didn't recognize that not everyone succeeded or had the tools to succeed so effortlessly. He understood the responsibility of his privilege, and he did his best to give back as much as he could. After all, his last name carried too much weight to ignore, and so he did his best to set the example, even when no one was looking.
When the unthinkable happens…
When Triana's family does the unimaginable, she's left without choices, devastated that her parents could betray her so easily. However, things become even more complicated when she accidently gets lost, coming face-to-face with Kairo Booker, a man that she never should have met.
When Kairo stumbled upon the unimaginable, his first instinct was to panic, having never been in such a situation before. However, when he finds himself more concerned with Triana Medina than he is with the law, that's when things become dangerous and unwise.
Despite the incredible risk, like two moths to the perilous flame, Triana and Kairo can't seem to stay away from each other, and when love turns into desperation, they find themselves on a journey that can only lead to prison or death and a whole lot of heartache.
