Photographer William Attard McCarthy has shot, edited and curated all the images in this collection to reveal the true splendour of the sky at night, as well as to bring awareness to its importance in our lives.  Most images come with a detailed description and astrometry, as well as other curiosities such as the origins of the subjects’ names.


The Universe s revealed through constellations, meteor showers, star clusters, nebulae and other Messier objects, highlighting  the science behind them and the beauty of dark skies away from light-polluted urban areas.  Also includes a pictorial section showing the detrimental effects of sky-glow and light pollution.
