National Parks of Australia
A Photographic Journey
Descripción editorial
National Parks of Australia is a collection of my favourite photographs taken over twenty years of visiting, hiking, surfing and skiing Australia’s amazing National Parks.
I have tried to include photos that are off the beaten track to give a real flavour of these parks outside of the main ‘postcard’ locations. Often these places are seen from the hiking trails that criss cross our parks or are at early morning or late afternoon, when the light is best and the solitude of the campsite is most appreciated. Of course, given how magnificent some of the most iconic scenery is, it would be remiss not to include a selection of these as well.
Australia is an ancient and vast continent, with its weathered mountain ranges and huge open spaces spanning six climate zones, from temperate to equatorial. The National Parks displayed in this book encompass some of the best wilderness areas of these zones, from Kakadu to Kosciuszko and from the blue Pacific to the Red Centre. Short overviews of parks and locations are provided.
