Quickly on the rise in his firm, ambitious attorney Chad Hampton is forced to challenge his historical knowledge and religious beliefs when a WWII veteran stands in the way of his professional pursuits.

In the final stages of a land development project in a small North Carolina town, Chad must tackle his final contract with William Lohman, an aging war hero with a dark secret and a deep grudge, neither of which he is giving up easily.
