Emberfall

When it's two minutes to midnight, all you can do is run…

Eleanor's entire world fell apart the day her mother died. Now, with her father hundreds of light-years away and her cruel stepmother running the family estate with an iron fist, Eleanor spends her days toiling away in brutal conditions and her nights dreaming of better times.

But when a mysterious stranger offers her a deal she can't refuse, Eleanor finds herself dragged from her melancholy existence into something far more dangerous.

For the stranger wants Eleanor to steal something on the night of the Crown Prince's coronation ball. Something from the royal vaults. Something that will stop the alien fleet massing on the outer edges of the system. Aliens that have a reputation for leaving inhabited worlds as barren, lifeless husks.

But the royal vaults hold a secret that could be the undoing of the entire star system, a secret the prince will do anything to protect. Now, with only a rag-tag crew and her own wits to rely on, Eleanor must find a way to retrieve the object and reach the system's edge without getting blown out of the sky.

Before the alien fleet destroys everything she has ever known.
