Everyone in the bunker thinks the monsters are sleeping inside the cryogenic tubes.

They are wrong.

Six months after the war for Tajss, Sophia is trapped underground with thousands of survivors, shrinking rations, rising tensions, and a black market willing to sell anything. She does whatever it takes to care for the women and child she calls family.

Then something in the walls begins watching her.

Bahr was once the commander of an elite Zmaj unit. The scientists in the hidden military bunker cut away pieces of him and replaced them with weapons: extra spider-like arms, a deadly alien tail, and scars that cover what remains. He has survived alone in the darkness for longer than he can remember.

Until he sees Sophia.

His dragon recognizes its treasure. His lonely heart sees the first person who might look beyond the monster.

So he takes her.

Sophia is terrified, furious, and determined to escape. But captivity becomes something far more complicated when she discovers the wounded warrior beneath Bahr's rage. He protects her, cooks for her, brings her an orphaned kedi, and slowly reveals the soldier who has forgotten how to believe he deserves kindness.

Bahr must learn that love cannot be captured. Sophia must decide whether the connection between them is fear, sympathy, or the fate he believes binds their souls.

When the bunker's ruthless black-market leader discovers Bahr, Sophia becomes the weapon used to control him. To save her, Bahr is willing to surrender everything, even his freedom.

But Sophia is done letting powerful men decide her future.
