When a savage injustice is forced upon a woman it has an effect on two future generations. Maria knew she was never loved even as a child. If her mother stared at her too long this was bad. The only hugs she received came from her mother’s employer. The day her mother didn’t bother to attend her school band concert made her grow up quickly… being left in a dark auditorium. Poi is new to America and was warned multiple times to stay away from black people to survive in America. During her first encounter with an African American she took off running scared to death, only later to realize this was her College Professor who was asking if she needed directions to the International student dorms. Nancy lives in the shadows of her own happiness. She’s in love with a woman but dating a man who’s a stalker, which is obvious to everyone...except Nancy. Sarah is the smart attorney who can’t stand Nancy’s stalking boyfriend. All of her red flags are up, but Sarah has a motive of her own. Ada was just starting to date after being a widow for fourteen years. Her co-worker calls her a cougar, because she doesn’t look her age and has a voluptuous figure. Anywhere she goes she is moved to the front of the line, drinks and dinner are usually on the house. Ada doesn’t ask for preferential treatment, it just comes with being beautiful.
