Publisher Description
This is a personal travel narrative by Mary Wollstonecraft. The text encompasses twenty-five letters and covers a range of topics, including sociological reflections on Scandinavia and the people there, but also questions to do with identity. It was the last work issued during her lifetime.
Mary Wollstonecraft went on the trip to the Scandinavian countries to retrieve a stolen treasure ship for her lover, Gilbert Imlay. But during her trip, she realised that Imlay had no ontention of renewing the relationship. Her feelings about being betrayed are reflected in her text.
