Mama Can't Raise No Man

When Duane finds himself in prison for a third time at the age of just 24, he starts to question everything he thought he knew about being a man.


His relationship with his mother is crumbling, he doesn't know his father and the mother of his children has stopped him from seeing his twins.


To top it off, his efforts to leave the 'road man' life behind and go legit seem to have failed and his 'friends' are all pulling him in different directions.


Confused and conflicted, Duane embarks on an emotional journey to go within the depths of his soul and search for the true meaning of what it is to be a son, brother, father, friend and lover.


Helped along by a colourful cast of characters, Duane embarks on a personal journey and exploration of masculinity which unfolds through conversations with friends, family and enemies, all through a series of letters and phone calls.


Although behind bars, he's determined to free himself from the constraints of his past and become a better man, but just when he thinks he's starting to get to grips with his relationships, a string of catastrophic events flip his world upside down (again!).
