The Trial

The Trial follows Josef K., a bank employee who is suddenly arrested without being told what crime he has committed. Though allowed to continue his daily life, he becomes trapped in a confusing and secretive legal system where rules, authorities, and procedures remain impossible to understand. As Josef searches for answers, his frustration and helplessness deepen. Franz Kafka uses the story to explore guilt, bureaucracy, power, fear, isolation, and the individual’s struggle against an incomprehensible system.
