Publisher Description
Abstract Therapeutic Touch has long been recognized as a health patterning modality consistent with Rogerian nursing science. However, theoretical explanations have not always been consistent with that science. Particularly problematic is the concept of energy transfer or energy exchange. In this article, the author provides overviews of the way Therapeutic Touch was originally introduced by Krieger and Kunz and how it is seen from the perspective of Rogers' Science of Unitary Human Beings. A theoretical rationale, developed from this nursing science, is then presented for consideration.
