We Thinkers! Think and Do

Designed for children ages 4-7, We Thinkers! Think and Do is an engaging activity book that builds on the ideas and images contained in our award-winning We Thinkers! series. Each activity sheet (what we call “thinksheet”) is created to get kids thinking and talking about their own and others' experiences within their social world. The thinksheets include over 90 thoughtfully crafted activities that work as jumping off points for sharing and connecting, and support kids in building social observation, perspective taking, flexible thinking, and problem-solving skills.

Whether used alongside the award-winning We Thinkers! curriculum or as a stand-alone resource, this versatile book gives parents, educators, therapists, and caregivers practical tools to spark meaningful discussions and support social learning across home, classroom, and small-group settings.
This flexible tool works for students who may need more time and support learning socially based concepts, practicing how to use these concepts within a variety of contexts including individual lessons, at home with family, in a small group, and/or as morning warmup activities in any classroom. Feel free to use or tailor your use of the teaching ideas with any of your early learners.

Each section begins with a "The Why Behind" the concept, an explanation of the "Connection to Academics," and suggestions on "Defining the Concept for Early Learners" that shares guidance on introducing and teaching the topic. After this introduction for teachers, therapists, or caregivers, there are 3 thinksheets for each section, each with 3 activities, for 90+ activities in all.

Each thinksheet has 3 different kinds of activities to engage your students in the learning.
• In the Think about it! activities, students will engage in noticing and thinking about what characters and people (including themselves) say and do.
• In the Talk about it! activities, use the prompts to engage your students in discussion.
• In the Try it! activities, students use their imagination and make text-to-self connections (connecting their own life experience to those of the characters in the story).
