A May Night

On a moonlit spring evening, a young man’s hopes for love become entangled with the secrets of the dead.

Levko longs to marry Hanna, but his stubborn father—the village headman—refuses to help. As songs, pranks, and rivalries disturb the village’s peace, Levko finds himself beside a mysterious pool, where a ruined manor overlooks the water and drowned maidens gather beneath the moon.

One restless spirit needs his help. A witch hides among her companions, and Levko must recognize the evil beneath an innocent appearance. His answer could change more than the maiden’s fate.

By turns playful, romantic, and haunting, A May Night blends Ukrainian folklore with Gogol’s sharp eye for human foolishness. Village comedy gives way to supernatural wonder in a world where beauty and danger share the same reflection.

Narrated by Greg Cooper, this atmospheric classic offers an enchanting escape for listeners who enjoy ghost stories, mischievous humor, and romance touched by the uncanny.
