What Kath Satchwell loves best in the world are stories - especially the ones she makes up herself. About Dracula Dust, for instance, which gathers bit by bit on windowsills waiting for rain at midnight to turn it into a vampire! Kath's twin brother Pip and cheeky younger sister Nicky aren't so sure about all this story-telling. They're busy plotting to stop Kath's over-enthusiastic nightly story sessions. But it's a plan that doesn't exactly work out as they'd expected...

Then there's the problem with Kath's favourite 'happily ever after' - the story of her own family, which turns out to have quite a different ending altogether...
