In the wake of the defeat of the Readers and the emergence of the Given from the Interland, Jay, Stitch and Cassie want nothing more than to return to a life free of oppression and fear.

Outside of their homeland, the power of the darkness rises to levels not seen before in the history of the powers, and when the evil grows to threaten their own shores once again, Jay must decide who she can trust and how to keep her friends safe from harm.

Will Jay alone summon the strength to defeat this new enemy, or will the fight be too much even for the most powerful of the Given?
