Adam and Eve Were Deceived By What We Accept As Church Doctrine

Adam and Eve were deceived in the Garden of Eden by the same serpent Beast that we read about in the Book of the Revelation. It was because of Adam and Eve did by following their deception that they were banished from the Garden. What did they do that was so bad? They did nothing other than what the Christian churches teach and preach in every church today. Adam and Eve were simply keeping 'church doctrine'. Doctrines which tells us that we don't need to keep God's Old Testament laws, we can ignore them, and we will "surely not die". But isn’t that contrary to what Jesus said?
