Publisher Description
Alphonse D'Arco was acting boss of the Lucchese crime family during a time when acting boss Vittorio Amuso and underboss Anthony "Gaspipe" Casso were serving prison time. D'Arco was in trouble by the early 1960s. I have researched his arrest, along with several accomplices, in a securities theft that was revealed by officers of the NYPD in mid-July 1961. The perpetrators were arrested following a planned meeting at Manhattan's Taft Hotel. D'Arco was a principal in a multi-mob family extortion scheme from low-rent housing builders in the 1990s.
