Babbitt Babbitt

Descripción editorial

Babbitt (1922) is Sinclair Lewis’s satirical novel of American middle-class life. George F. Babbitt is a prosperous real-estate man in Zenith—a “booster,” a joiner, a believer in success and convention. Lewis follows him through business, family, and club life, and through a brief rebellion that society quickly snuffs out. The novel gave the language the word “Babbitt” for the conformist businessman and remains a classic of American literature.
