Crooked House

The problem with being a necromancer is that you don't only have to deal with the worst of the dead; you also have to deal with the worst people alive.

Common sense would suggest that if you have to excavate a portal to a pocket dimension and then unseal a chamber with a bone lock on it, what waits on the other side might  be better off left alone. Too bad Eric Carter doesn't have much of a choice.

Which is not to say he makes good choices as rule. It's just that in this case, his options are bad choices and worse ones. But Carter is prone to dishing out punishment and taking his fair share of lumps in the process. In this bloodsoaked prequel to Dead Things, there's plenty of punishment to go around.
