Dare to be an Atheist

There are political atheists, and there are thinking atheists. Most atheists align themselves with socialist and communist views and accept atheism as part of a philosophic package. Thinking atheists, on the other hand, are motivated by the search for truth. They are not interested in ideas based on belief or faith because such ideas are not supported by facts. Research indicates that the human species succeeded by using religion to bind communities together.  For this reason, evolution may have favored people whose brains were biologically pre-programmed for religion. For this reason, many atheists choose to remain in the closet living lives of quiet desperation, The degree of this risk these people face by coming out is proportional to the irrationality of the religious culture they are embedded in.
