Descripción editorial
Espresso is simple to make and hard to master. This book closes the gap.
Espresso Perfection explains what actually happens inside the basket, then turns that understanding into a method you can use at the machine every day. Written for beginners, home baristas, café professionals and the engineers who design espresso equipment, it replaces guesswork with clear cause and effect.
Inside the Third Edition:
•How compounds extract, and why time, temperature and grind size change the taste in the cup
•Pressure explained plainly: the machine's setpoint, the gauge reading, and what the coffee bed really feels under flow
•Water's two jobs: extracting flavor and protecting your machine
•A five-step dialing sequence and feedback loop for consistent shots
•Troubleshooting tables that tell you not just the likely cause but how to confirm it
•Milk steaming and texture, stage by stage
•Guidance on choosing machines and grinders
•Black-and-white diagrams throughout, with footnoted references to real research and industry sources
Timeless in approach and practical in detail, Espresso Perfection is a reference you'll keep beside the grinder, behind the bar or on the design bench.
