On December 21, 1961, Commander Malcom Caulfield blasted off in his capsule, Majestic, and became the first American to orbit the Earth.
“I am alone up here, right?”
Just one orbit into a planned five, strange things began to happen and it quickly became apparent that something wasn’t quite right with the mission.
