We all should have spiritual mentors in our lives. Spiritual mentors are people who are invested in our spiritual health, personal growth, and in us reaching our fullest potential. They may help us learn new skills or knowledge, provide guidance and wisdom for decision-making, or hold us accountable in the ways we engage with ourselves and the world around us.

What if we have a wise spiritual mentor who has known years of joy and years of heartache, pen leisurely, poignant letters conversing with your most vexing questions on life, God, and love?

This book discovers private correspondence between Fénelon (a French bishop under King Louis XIV) and Fénelon’s friends serving in the royal court. These letters offer to penetrate, modern wisdom.

François de Salignac de la Mothe-Fénelon, more commonly known as François Fénelon, was a French Roman Catholic archbishop, theologian, poet, and writer. He today is remembered mostly as the author of The Adventures of Telemachus, first published in 1699. Born on Aug. 6, 1651, François Fénelon was educated by the Jesuits. He became a priest at the famous Seminary of St-Sulpice and spent 3 years preaching to Protestants. He became an ardent disciple and friend of Jacques Bossuet. Fénelon produced his Treatise on the Existence of God as well as his Treatise on the Education of Young Girls at this time. Both were highly successful.
