Lyman Frank Baum (1856 – 1919) better known in the literary world by his pen name L. Frank Baum, was a brilliant American author chiefly known for his children's books. The world fame was obtained by one of his best works named The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. Numerous works of him nowadays are participated as screenplays for cartoons, computer games, and television in whole.
"Hickory, Dickory, Dock" is a short story by L. Frank Baum. It is one of the tales in his 1897 collection “Mother Goose in Prose”. Hickory, Dickory and Dock are names of three little mice living with their Mamma Mouse in the roof of a house. Mamma spends her time foraging a food and always warns her brood to remain safe in their nest when she's gone. In spite of mother's caution three young varmints make their adventure through the house with curious and audacity. But as a result in danger being frightened three little mice turned out to be only fine scared children which will have to grow up yet.
